Three Gorgrs DamWe left the cruise ship today .  We had to be up around 6:00 a.m. to get ready to take a tour of the dam around 8:00 a.m.  We spent about an hour at the dam.  We were not able to get a direct flight from Yichang.  We got on a bus for a 5 hour ride to catch our plane to Shanghai.  It was a fascinating ride through the country side.  Saw lots of rice & lotus flower farming.

Man on BicycleIt is amazing what people can carry on a bicycle.  They build a platform on to the bicycle & load it up.  Today I saw a man riding his bike with 4 buckets of different kids of soups.  We did make 2 stops along the way.

Jinghou MuseumWe stopped at a museum in Jingzhou to see a 2000 year old mummy named Shay & some wonderful lacquered sculptures & lacquered artifacts.

Local guide TracyOur local guide's name was Zhang He. We called her Tracy.

Farm CoupleFrom there we got to stop at an operating farm house.  The couple was very gracious.  They had children before the 1 child per family law so they have 3 sons & 2 daughters. The woman is 76 & her husband is 78.  They totally opened there home to us, even though we showed up unexpectedly. They let us take pictures & we saw pictures of their family.  They were very happy to see us. Can you imagine someone in our country allowing a bus load of people to walk through their home unannounced?

Then onwards & upwards to a pretty mediocre dinner at the airport.  We didn't have time to go to a regular restaurant.  What a disappointment. We had fantastic food up to that point.  Oh well, it was the airport after all.  After a 1 hour flight we still had an hour drive from the airport to the hotel.  Quite a nice room. We are staying at the Regent Hotel.  Tomorrow will be another rather full day.
